Welcoming a new addition into your family is one of the most exhilarating, emotional, amazing - and overwhelming, let’s be honest! - times of your life. Creating a human, experiencing birth and really every day beyond that with your child has got to be the most powerful and amazing thing in your lifetime. It’s something that I’ve been so fortunate to experience myself, and maybe that’s why I get so excited to provide my milestone and newborn sessions to expectant and new parents.
Starting within the first 48 hours of life, we can capture moments while you and your new family are still in the hospital room. These are some of my favorite moments to capture of all time! You don’t realize how quickly those first couple days fly by until they are gone. Moms, you’ll never forget the memories in that delivery room and those first 48 hours (that you probably didn’t sleep much!), which is why I’m so thankful that I’m able to capture images that will help trigger those memories for years to come. These are some of my most cherished photos of my son – that “fresh” baby smell and memories come flooding back every time I see them.
My style of newborn session is a small mix of both worlds – lifestyle and posed. I don’t (currently!) have a studio of my own, but regardless, I really enjoy traveling to client’s homes for newborn sessions within the first 14 days of your new addition coming into the world. We can come up with a custom plan that works just for you, based on your wish list. I travel with all of my equipment that allows me to snap some moments of your family in your home, “unposed” in your element, as well as a few traditional posed, studio-type images of the baby. You’ll be relaxed in your home environment, and while I take the posed images of baby, you can enjoy a much-needed break!
It might be the most cliché or common thing any new parent had heard, but time does fly by and children really do grow up way quicker than you can imagine. Especially in those first few months, in my opinion. I’ve never had someone regret newborn photos – and how could you with those tiny features and moments to remember?
