It's been almost 10 years since I moved to North Carolina just days after graduating college. No real paying job. One friend here. Nothing to my name but whatever was in my car and a small u-haul trailer. Sounds a little crazy putting it on paper... but I had a dream and somewhat of a plan, so I went with it. Why not?!
Looking back on my journey, I wouldn't trade any of it. I love living here in North Carolina, but I do enjoy going back to the great state of Wisconsin, where I was born and raised, at least a couple times a year. There are a lot of things I miss; my family first and foremost. But the Wisconsin summers are pretty awesome too, which is why I chose to head up in June this year.
This also presented the opportunity for me to schedule my first-ever mini sessions in Wisconsin, as I haven't been home with good weather on my side since the start of my photography business. I was so excited to see some of my friends from my childhood and younger days, now with families of their own. It was amazing to see how much everyone has grown and changed, and I'm so glad I chose to make these sessions part of the trip.
I'm sharing just a few of my favorites from these sessions. The weather didn't cooperate every day, so we had a marathon of sessions, but I'm so glad we got to make it all work. Maybe we'll have to plan a trip every year! :)
